Storage Scenario
Storage is a much generalized word which can mean anything from storing food grains to storing data in a computer. To the very common man, the word will generally mean storing his articles and to a housewife managing the available space in the house it will definitely mean something between catastrophe and bliss. The matter of storing data is not a common household problem as is storing the articles that are rarely used or used seasonally. Residential space is diminishing because of the price factor but the articles of use are becoming more to cope with the changing society. So the natural fallout of this development is the shortage of storing space. Necessity is the mother of invention they say and so it is. Many options are now evolving to keep up with this growing problem of storage room.
Perhaps one of the easiest options is storing vertically. It is actually what is happening. People are now building cabinets and wardrobes up to the height of ceiling to store their objects. The problem is more acute in the metropolitan areas where the people are more and more living in the buildings. Those with a house have the attic to store but when the storing of valuable and delicate articles is in question the attic is often left out. The garage is a storehouse of large articles and also articles like bicycles and those living near the rivers, lakes and sea often store their boats along with the cars. But these too sometimes prove inadequate.
Imagine a situation when you have to leave your home for a log time, say on a vacation abroad, or a contractual service for a certain period across the country. You just cannot leave your home with all the furniture and equipment at the mercy of various factors like weather, burglars and pests. In case of a job that will engage you for two years, you cannot sell your house. The storage of all the articles including the car will be a major cause of concern. This peculiar situation has given birth to a whole new business, renting out storing units. This is not just an invention of this century but the concept is about three decades old. The companies even provide climate controlled units for storing valuable and perishable articles. There are companies that provide storing facilities for cars, boats and RVs. So whenever you need to store your articles and vehicles you will have a company at hand that is waiting to do the job for you.
The companies providing storage services are now even spreading their wings in providing temporary storing services to those people who are moving out or moving into a new place. Since the matter of packing is no easy job especially for those leaving a house for good, the companies are now bringing the temporary storing to their home. Actually the companies are leaving boxes to be packed at ease and then they transport to the destination and also store there till the hirer finds time to get arranged properly. This business of storage has caught on in the last few years and almost the entire country is covered with storing facilities of various sizes and services. The competition has become so much that the companies are offering various incentives and at certain places each company has to fight with as many as twenty companies to get a single customer.
